Preparations

15 Days: time waits for no man and with only 15 days left we are in the midst of preparations and conversion from a static liveaboard boat to a fully equipped cruiser, ready for the journey of a lifetime.

I am sure that the todo list is getting longer despite the completion of what seems like hundreds of details that we are attending to.

Yesterday we completed the following:
Replaced the repaired water cooler heat exchanger on the engine.
Installed a new compass on the binnacle
Installed two new overhead cupboards to house the flares and safety equipment.
Ran and tested the engine.
Ran the repaired watermaker.
Removed the dock ropes to absolute minimum.
Shopping for essential tools and accessories.
Organised a replacement system for the faulty depth transducer.
Researched the signage for the boat as required for the Australian Ships Register.
Installed the new jack lines on the deck.
Dived under the boat to check the hull.
Got haircuts!

More updates to follow.

Hello, Good evening and welcome!

Welcome to the first post of the blog of the continuing adventures of the good ship Moonshadow. We hope you will enjoy reading and keeping in touch with us as we get under way.

Jeremy and Margie are about to cast off on our adventure with Moonshadow and we will be keeping a record of our travels here as often as we are able.
